PCMS builds upon the professional learning that Mentors receive with NCSOE and provides experienced educators with the skills and practice necessary to develop their work as Mentors with colleagues.  This optional, applied pedagogy-focused course provides Mentors with opportunities to learn a variety of mentoring strategies, approaches, and procedures that increase their ability to develop, deliver, integrate, and become effective mentors to new teachers.  Using a variety of academic theory and professional readings, videos and visuals, Mentors practice coaching skills, applications, and methods that incorporate inquiry and reflection in ongoing professional learning.
